Message from the president

Dear ABAIE Family,

I was born in Taipei, Taiwan. May family came to the U.S. when I was 11 years old. My parents started an Asian food distribution business, and I worked in my parents’ business throughout middle school and high school. It was through that experience that I learned all the struggles that my parents went through to ultimately become successful in business. But they didn’t do it all on their own. They received so much help and support from the immigrant community, as well as the community at large.

I started my own business at age 22 straight out of college. Even with financial support and guidance from my parents, along with a Business Entrepreneur degree from a prestigious university, I still went through my struggles as an entrepreneur. But I was lucky to have some great mentors in my early years in business. It was through that journey that I realized how important it is to have a strong support system to succeed not just in business, but in life.

This is why I wanted to serve as the President of ABAIE. After all my mentor, Mack Davis from USC Entrepreneur Program, told us that once you become successful, you have the extra responsibility to give back to society. There is no better feeling than being able to give back with my time, money, experience, and mentorship to the next generation of entrepreneurs in the Inland Empire. I hope you will join me on this journey.
